Commonly known as linden, this tree, which is widespread throughout Europe, bears the scientific name of Tilia cordata and can reach up to 30 metres in height.

At the request of Barcelona City Council, it is necessary to replant a 50-tonne specimen located on the Carretera de Ribes road. With a full canopy of 4.5 m×4.5 m×1 m, the biology and phenotype of the tree justify the use of the Treeplatform® system for its transplanting.

This method is split into two phases:
  1. Preparation work, including inspection pits to redefine the rootball as well as the installation of an irrigation system and temporary anchoring. The machinery is then positioned, the Treeplatform® is installed and anchored for movement.
  1. Movement and planting: Once the ground has been prepared, the tree is repositioned and lifted by crane. The second movement of the specimen to its final location involves the planting and installation of a final anchoring system using steel cables.
Finally, an automatic watering system is installed, and 10 cm of mulch is laid.
