Supply and installation of two inlet gates measured to support a charge of 30 metres of water column.

The reservoir of San Salvador is one of the main works of the Water Pact in Aragon, destined for the regulation of Aragon´s canal and Catalonia. With a total capacity of 133 Hm³, it allows to irrigate directly 23.000 Ha. Furthermore, it will allow to increase the amount of more than 100.000 Ha from the current 5.300 cubic metre per hectare and year to the future 6.800.

The main reservoir has a coronation length of 683 m and a maximum height on the land of 46 m. It allows to laminate a flood of 162,3 m³/s (return period of 1.000 years) to 1,4 m³/s.

Technical data

Gates

2 Gates of 2.000 x 2.500 mm, manufactured with carbon steel S 275JR. Watertightness at 4 sides manufactured with EPDM - Steel.

Frames and guides

Closing frames manufactured with stainless steel 304L, and guide of 22 m until manoeuvre floor manufactured with carbon steel S 275JR.

Pressure compensation gate

Gate 300 x 400 mm inside the main gate, to compensate pressures before the opening and reduce the needed lifting effort.
