Plaza del Doctor Laguna, located in the Niño Jesús neighbourhood of the Retiro district, required pavement renovation and the implementation of accessible pathways.
These works not only address these aspects but also include the installation of a modern, inclusive, and safe children’s playground.
Various pavement finishes are used to create contrast and differentiate functional spaces. The project also incorporates street furniture such as benches and waste bins, an efficient and sustainable LED lighting system, and an extensive green area with new plant species.
This contract is part of the framework agreement “Works for Reform, Repair, and Conservation: Public Spaces Lot 4.”

Surfacing
- Perimeter pavement: 40x40 grey shot-blasted tiles (1,260 m²).
- Pathways and transition areas: 20x40x6 paving stone in faded rust and black (1,100 m²).
- Recreational areas: yellow-toned asphalt (510 m²).
- Playgrounds: rubber paving (520 m²).
- Green areas: 4,674 units of 8 different species covering 1,500 m².
