Remodelling work on the pedestrian walkways and adaptation of the pedestrian access to the main road through Parque de la Bombilla, located in the Moncloa-Aravaca district in the city of Madrid.

Spanning an area of 13 hectares, Parque de la Bombilla is a major green space that plays host to important events throughout the year. Just a stone’s throw from Príncipe Pío station, it runs parallel to Parque del Oeste and features squares, fitness areas and playgrounds. 
 
This project involved remodelling the pedestrian walkways and improving the pedestrian access to the main road. The works were carried out with semi-polished concrete and the application of resin on the wearing surface. The project encompassed a number of civil engineering rehabilitation works, chief among which were the following:
  • Demolition of concrete pavements and kerbs.
  • Excavation and backfilling of rebuilt pedestrian walkways. 
  • Correction of pavement slopes for the evacuation of rain water by gravity.
  • Upgrading access for people with reduced mobility.
  • Paving with reinforced semi-polished concrete. 
  • Surface treatment with paving polymers and resins.
  • Paving with pre-cast paving stones.
  • Repairing the affected irrigation system.
  • Rebuilding existing stairs.
This project is part of the Framework Agreement for refurbishment, repair and conservation works for all the buildings under the authority of the Moncloa-Aravaca district of the City Council of Madrid, Plot 4.
