Having reached the end of their useful life, complete replacement of the train parking tracks and access to the motor repair pits 1T to 7T is required at Martorell Enllaç station owned by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat (FGC). In addition, the old funicular gantries on the workshop track yard will be replaced by other more solid ones made of stronger material requiring less maintenance. These replacement works will make it possible to install a different track infrastructure including a new train washing site and open access to the track yard on the Barcelona side. In this way, operationality of the movement of trains into and out of workshops will be improved.

In the first stage, track devices will be installed using manual mechanisms with levers and subsequently driven by motors. The motorisation of track devices is not the purpose of this project, but rather the supply of side frames and linkages, so the geometry of the new installation must be borne in mind. For this reason, track devices have been prepared for both scenarios without the need for modification.
The scope of the works consists of:

1. Replacing the 1T to 7T motor workshop access track and overhead line. This work includes the supply and installation of track devices and buffers, as well as the assembly and concreting of the track, as both the rail and the fastenings will be the responsibility of FGC.

2. Supply of the coating system and installation in the walkway area in front of the workshop. This area has an embedded track and coated rail for electrical insulation and traffic.

3. New access to the track yard from the Barcelona side: tracks 5, 9 and 13, track 11 to the future train washing site, track 15 for access manoeuvres to the workshop and connection to existing tracks on the Manresa side.

4. Drainage of the track yard with a water infiltration system to the ground and connection to the existing sewage system. Separate drainage of water from both the repair pits and motor pits to the pump sump.

5. New network of installation and signalling conduits.

6. New lighting in the track yard with LED technology.

7. Civil works and channelling of the connections to the new laundry room
