Refurbishment and adaptation of the Puerto de Balbarán Municipal Sports Facility in Madrid

Comprehensive remodelling of the Puerto de Balbarán Municipal Sports Facility (IDM) in Madrid’s Puente de Vallecas district. This project is part of the Framework Agreement we hold with the Puente de Vallecas district of the City Council of Madrid.

Until now, the Puerto Balbarán Municipal Sports Facility (IDM) had two handball and two basketball courts. Thanks to this project, the facility has expanded its service offer with a skate circuit and pump track designed for different roller sports. The work also includes all the renovation works of the urban space, including the following: 
  • Demolishing paving and removing existing street furniture.
  • Upgrade of access points.
  • Drainage improvements.
  • General urban development using reinforced stamped concrete pavement and porous concrete paving, both finished with different colours and shapes.
  • Surface treatment with polymers and acrylic resins on existing pavements to be preserved.
  • Installation of perimeter enclosure.
  • Remodelling of the stands.
  • Installation of new street furniture such as benches, bins and bike racks.
  • Autonomy of the existing lighting by separating it from the public network.
  • Renovation of the lighting with the installation of LED lights.
This project is part of the Framework Agreement for refurbishment, repair and conservation works for all the public buildings and spaces under the authority of the Puente de Vallecas District of the City Council of Madrid, Plot 2.

  • Nine skateable elements made on site.
  • 1,337.60 m² of resin surface.
  • 118.16 m2 of anti-graffiti treatment.

Street furniture

  • Six wooden benches, 12 units of bike racks and six bins.
  • 952 m2 of electro-welded mesh enclosure.
