Redevelopment for the formation of new sections of “superblocks” on Avinguda Roma and Carrer d’Aragó in Barcelona, prioritising pedestrians and eliminating through traffic.

The works consist of the redevelopment of Section 1 of the UP3 Rocafort hub project, between Avinguda Roma and Carrer d’Aragó, and Section 1 of the UP4 Compte Borrell hub project, between Avinguda Roma and Carrer d’Aragó, for the formation of new sections of “superblocks”, prioritising pedestrians and eliminating through traffic. 
 
The action is included in section 7 (Rocafort hub and Borrell hub), within the works of the New Green Hubs of the Eixample of Barcelona, tendered by Barcelona City Council within the framework of the “superblock” programme.
 
The works include:
·       Demolition of MBC and Panot pavements.
·       Removal of pre-existing elements (furniture, light points, large bins, tree surrounds, Bicing…).
·       Excavations for the formation of a new platform and backfill for pavement bases (structural soil base, granular sand base, granular                  gravel base and topsoil flowerbeds).

·       New paving, granite kerbs and granite dropped kerbs.
·       Sanitation network.
·       Street lighting.
·       New signage and traffic lights. 

In addition, as a result of the synergies between the different companies in the group, Sorigué’s Green Infrastructure line has implemented the green areas:

·       Planting of 31 trees: Gleditsia, Brachychiton, Tipuana, Cercis, Maple, Ginkgo, etc. 
·       Planting of 1,049 units of bushes with substrate, compost, mulch and pine bark.
·       Complete irrigation installation.
