The works consist of improving the operability of the Molinar dock with the creation of new port infrastructure and the organisation of port uses and spaces. The integration of the port into the urban environment will also be improved by removing barriers, remodelling the port area and part of the promenade.

The works include the following activities:
  •  Demolition of pavements and enclosing walls and removal of existing elements.
  • Demolition of the structures around the historic restaurant building of the Club Marítimo Molinar and the auxiliary warehouse and sailing school buildings.
  • Construction of a new Levante levee and extension of the pier platform in that area for the construction of the new sailing school building and a new boat ramp.
  • Remodelling of the western pier: removal of breakwater, demolition of seawall capping beam, construction of a new seawall capping beam and replacement of breakwater. The demolition of the seawall capping beam revealed the need to rebuild the entire pier due to its degraded condition.

Construction of a breakwater levee outside the port opposite the harbour mouth in order to reduce turbulence within the port.

  • Demolition of the two existing jetties in the port.
  • Dredging the basin to -1.90 m.
  • Construction of new pier to the north and backfilling to extend the pier platform in that area.
  • Demolition of the ramp in the existing sailing school and excavation of the platform in that area for new pier alignment.
  • Partial demolition of the pier for the construction of a new seawall beam with integrated service ducts. During this phase, the poor condition of all the existing piers was noted, and the proposed solution was adopted to rebuild them in their entirety, resulting in an amendment.
  • Demolition of the boat ramps and existing pier in both areas and the construction of a new pier.
  • Urbanisation of the surrounding area: creation of Plaza Molinar and the square by the sailing school with terraces at different levels, paved with stone or pre-cast paving, landscaped flowerbeds and a viewpoint terrace overlooking the new sailing school building. The urbanisation works include the renovation of the utility networks.
