Tender awarded for execution of works on Section V of the Segarra-Garrigues Canal within a period of 34 months to the Joint Venture formed by Acsa Obras e Infraestructuras, Acciona, and Rubau.

The infrastructure routing, 22.2 km in length, runs through the municipalities of Maldà, Arbeca, Els Omellons, La Floresta, Borges Blanques and Cervià de les Garrigues, before its outfall into the Albagès reservoir in the province of Lleida.

This section of the canal has a transport capacity of 15 m³/s, helping to fill the Albagès reservoir, particularly in times of high water levels, when the Rialb reservoir produces surplus discharges.
