Replacement of Taintor gates at the Navacerrada and La Jarosa Dams

Supply and installation of new Taintor gates for the Navacerrada and La Jarosa Dams, replacing the existing gates so that these relief structures are able to provide complete safety and reliability in any situation, protecting people, equipment, and the security of the dam itself.

The activities performed include:
- Data collection, calculation and design of the 7x3 m Taintor gates.
- Review and design of the activation system.
- Removal and transport to an authorized management facility of the existing gates, including their activation system, accessories, and mechanical parts.
- Removal and transport to an authorized management facility of the obsolete electrical installations.
- Removal and storage of all components of the integrated gate monitoring system, such that they can be reinstalled once gate replacement is complete and the new instrumentation is installed.
 

- Structural works necessary to adapt the operation sheds to the new gates and their activation systems.
- Replacement of fixed side locks.
- Manufacture, testing, transport to the dam, and installation of the Tainter gates, including their activation system, mechanical components, electrical system, slip bands, and sealing gaskets.
- Installation and testing of the gate monitoring, instrumentation, and opening control systems, including the fiber optic connection box, data acquisition system, and power protection box.
- Treatment of the operation chambers and required electrical installations.
