Furthermore, profit before tax reached 24 million, compared to 8.5 million in the previous financial year. These achievements are the result of an active investment policy of over 50 million in 2025, which has resulted, among other things, in the acquisition of state-of-the-art machinery, particularly for its concession contracts, and investment in equipment for its applied engineering operations. This decision has, in turn, been reflected in workforce growth, which exceeded 5,000 employees over the last year, representing a 16% increase.
In 2025, the group strengthened its regional presence in the Valencian Community, Murcia, Extremadura and western Andalusia, adding to regions where it has operated for over four decades, such as Madrid, Catalonia, Aragon, the Balearic Islands and the rest of Andalusia.
Some of the most significant contracts awarded in 2025 were: the start of the maintenance and expansion of water networks in Murcia; the commencement of the pavement and public space maintenance service for Alicante City Council; the refurbishment of an iconic 1926 building (the former El Corte Inglés headquarters) on Portal del Ángel in Barcelona; and the construction of phase one of the new northern ring road in Córdoba, among others.
Innovation for cities and the water cycle
In 2025, Sorigué continued to drive forward its commitment to research and R&D&I through projects focusing on the water cycle, the circular economy and new materials and pavements for cities. Examples include a pilot test of reflective pavements to reduce the urban heat island effect, driven alongside the UPC, and research in collaboration with ICFO and Apria Systems into the viability of obtaining green hydrogen from wastewater at the Montornès del Vallès WWTP, which is also managed by Sorigué. Likewise, the RegCOM project, also in partnership with the UPC, is developing a greywater phytodepuration system for installation in communal building spaces.
Regarding its commitment to environmental sustainability, in 2025, Sorigué allocated 19 million euros to environmental resources, an increase of 29% compared to the previous year. It also reduced its carbon emission intensity by 13% and increased water reuse in its production processes by 11%, alongside other improvements compared to the previous financial year.
