April 27, 2026

• The project, representing an investment of over €145 million, is moving ahead with construction following the formation of the joint venture • Lleida-based companies Romero Polo and Sorigué will carry out most of the work on the project, alongside Dragados • The construction workforce will peak at around 300 • Shopping Promenade Lleida will be the city’s first retail park and will create 1,400 direct and indirect jobs once operational

Lleida, 23 April 2026 – The investors, developers and managers of Shopping Promenade Lleida, Eurofund Group and FREY, today announced the award of the construction contract for the future development to the joint venture (UTE) formed by the Lleida-based companies Romero Polo and Sorigué, together with Dragados, with each company holding an equal share in the works.

The selection of this joint venture marks a decisive step forward for the project and reinforces the developers’ commitment to the region and its business community. Together, the Lleida-based companies will carry out most of the work on the project, alongside Dragados, in line with the developers’ commitment to boosting the local impact of the investment. Romero Polo and Sorigué both originated in Lleida and have a solid track record there, as well as extensive experience in delivering projects throughout Spain. Dragados, meanwhile, brings an outstanding track record in major construction projects in Spain and abroad.

The award of the contract allows the project to keep moving forward. The contract awarded to the joint venture covers the entire construction of the complex. Work will initially focus on earthworks and the foundations. This will be followed by the erection of the building structures, the construction of the façades and roofs, and the interior fit-out. The final phase will include the urban development works, the creation of parking areas and the landscaping, with over 20,000 m² of green spaces and the planting of nearly 1,000 trees.

An engine of employment and opportunities for Lleida

At the peak of construction, the workforce will reach around 300 across the three companies that make up the joint venture. In line with the developers’ commitment to maximising the positive impact of the project on the region, priority will be given to hiring local professionals and companies, ensuring a tangible economic impact on the province of Lleida.

A retail space that complements Lleida

Shopping Promenade Lleida will be the city’s first open-air retail and leisure destination, representing an investment of over €145 million and the creation of 1,400 direct and indirect jobs. The project will complement the existing retail offering in Lleida, providing new spaces, open formats and services that expand the city’s shopping experience.

The project will cover over 56,000 m² on the Torre Salses site and is conceived as an open space that prioritises outdoor areas and accessibility. Furthermore, it has been designed in line with sustainability and energy efficiency criteria, prioritising natural lighting, lower energy consumption and the responsible management of water and waste, both during construction and in its future operation.

Shopping Promenade Lleida is a flagship project for the future of Lleida. More than a retail development, it will offer a wide range of attractions combining shopping, leisure, dining and cultural experiences in an open and accessible landscaped setting.

The project incorporates pedestrian walkways, green spaces, welcoming terraces, art installations, experiential routes and family play areas, designed to encourage a variety of uses both in everyday life and during leisure time. In this way, Shopping Promenade Lleida is positioned as a sustainable driver of regional attraction and a new benchmark for residents and visitors.

Shopping Promenade Lleida aims to achieve BREEAM Excellent certification, reflecting a comprehensive approach that encompasses energy efficiency, landscape design, responsible resource management and the quality of the visitor experience.
