It was designed to take into account future growth, with a treatment capacity for 100,000 inhabitants. Equipped with the very latest remote control and management technology, it is an activated sludge biological treatment plant that eliminates nitrogen and phosphorous biologically.

Sludge dewatering is carried out using mechanical thickening, followed by centrifuges, and, finally, heat-drying to 80% dryness.
