Sorigué Shares Its Expert Perspective on Road Maintenance at Emergency Management Conference

November 17, 2025

The Association for the Maintenance and Operation of Infrastructure (ACEX) examined the best approaches for handling unexpected events and weather alerts such as flash floods or earthquakes.

Sorigué, through its subsidiary Sorigué Acsa Conservación, was one of the expert organisations invited by the Association for the Maintenance and Operation of Infrastructure (ACEX) to evaluate the most effective strategies for emergency management.

The technical conference titled “Prepared for the Unexpected: Roads as Critical Infrastructure” took place on 12 November at the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure of Murcia. It received support from the Government of the Region of Murcia and the College of Civil Engineers of Murcia.

One of the most frequently discussed topics during the event was the importance of effective communication between emergency teams, technical staff, and authorities to ensure swift and efficient operations in critical situations such as torrential rains, seismic events, fires, and similar emergencies.

Anna Leal Bosch, Head of Road Maintenance at Sorigué, emphasised the need to keep all communication channels between public administrations and private companies up to date, stating: “We are the ones who keep the roads operational; they serve as a key support tool for infrastructure managers.”

The conference also opened essential discussions on topics such as the importance of establishing safe zones for road maintenance workers, as well as the cybersecurity challenges facing an increasingly interconnected industry.

In addition, participants shared best practices for managing emergencies related to earthquakes, analysed weather alerts from the perspective of occupational risk prevention, and attended presentations explaining the protocols of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility regarding coordination and response to unforeseen situations.
