The connection between the Aljarafe region and the city of Seville is much faster and more sustainable thanks to the first bus-HOV lane, driven by the Regional Government of Andalusia and constructed by Sorigué. 

The new platform was inaugurated by regional and municipal authorities at an event highlighting its benefits for citizens, particularly the reduction in waiting times during peak hours and the promotion of public transport and carpooling.

The Regional Minister for Public Works, Territorial Articulation and Housing, Rocío Díaz; the Regional Minister for Culture and Sport, Patricia del Pozo; and representatives from the towns of San Juan de Aznalfarache, Mairena del Aljarafe and Tomares confirmed that this new lane serves around 4,300 vehicles per day, a figure that is set to rise as its use becomes more established. 

Fast, safe access 

Spanning 3.6 kilometres, the road connects the PISA industrial estate roundabout in Mairena del Aljarafe , with access to the SE-30 via the Coria del Río motorway, at one of the busiest entrances to the Andalusian capital from the Seville metropolitan area.

To carry out the project, Sorigué’s Southern Infrastructure Directorate widened the left-hand carriageway of the A-8057 with a third lane, upgrading the access points, signage and containment elements across the entire platform. 

Among the project’s unique structures, the 120-metre-long viaduct at the junction with the Coria motorway (A-8058) stands out, allowing the bus-HOV lane to follow an independent route. 

For over 50 years, Sorigué has maintained a strong presence in Andalusia, with branches in Seville, Granada and Málaga. 

The company is currently progressing with the expansion of Córdoba’s Ronda Norte (North Ring Road), one of the largest projects in the region. 

Furthermore, it recently delivered the outpatient unit for the maternal and child area of the University Hospital of Córdoba, a five-storey building covering over 10,000 m², and has completed the urbanisation works for the Spanish Army Logistics Base in Córdoba, designed as one of the most important large-scale military complexes in Spain.
