Construction of the Bus-HOV lane between Aljarafe and Seville
The new platform, designed for buses and high-occupancy vehicles, starts at the PISA roundabout in Mairena del Aljarafe, Seville, and ends in the La Cartuja area of the city of Seville via the Coria motorway.
Sorigué has built the first dedicated lane for buses and high-occupancy vehicles (HOV) connecting the Aljarafe region with the city of Seville.
This corridor encourages car sharing, reducing CO₂ emissions and journey times for a population of approximately 92,000 residents in the towns of Mairena del Aljarafe, Almensilla and Palomares del Río, among others.
It is estimated that in the initial stage, over 4,300 vehicles per day will benefit from this platform, and over the next 20 years, this figure will increase to 7,500 vehicles daily, including regular metropolitan bus routes.
New bridge
The works begin at the PISA roundabout in Mairena del Aljarafe, with the widening of the left-hand carriageway of the A-8057 to create a third lane. As the available space in the central reservation of the A-8057 is quite limited, the right-hand carriageway has been shifted outwards, and the exit slip road to the PISA Industrial Park has been restored.
At the junction with the Coria motorway (A-8058), the Bus-HOV lane separates from the left-hand carriageway and adopts an independent route, requiring the construction of a 120 m long bridge.
The implementation of the Bus-HOV lane has also involved remodelling the highway drainage system and building retaining walls, among other works.
