Sorigué advances in the certification of the BIM methodology

Sorigué receives this certification in three areas of its business: Building, Hydraulic Infrastructure Management and Construction works related to the water cycle.

The external auditor Applus+ has certified Sorigué’s technical capability to apply the BIM methodology in the execution and operation phases of building works, infrastructure management and construction activities related to the water cycle, carried out by the companies Acsa, Obras e Infraestructuras, and Coutex. 

This accreditation joins the one already held by the Conservation business line within the Infrastructure and Materials division, through the company Sorigué Acsa Conservación. In October 2024, the company was a nationwide pioneer in obtaining the UNE-EN ISO 19650-1:2019 and UNE-EN ISO 19650-3:2020 certifications for the digitalisation of assets in conservation and maintenance contracts for unique civil works such as viaducts, tunnels and bridges, among others. 

Now it is the turn of three new activities. Convinced of the value that parameterised three-dimensional models bring to the digitalisation of information and collaborative work, the group has been working with BIM modelling for over ten years. 

With this new accreditation, Sorigué adds value for its clients, as it demonstrates its technical expertise in contracts that require BIM certifications, an increasingly common requirement in public and private tenders

BIM methodology 
The BIM (Building Information Modelling) methodology makes it possible to digitise and structure a common data environment – geometric, environmental, temporal and economic – centralising infrastructure and the assets that comprise it. 

Thanks to its ability to manage large volumes of information, BIM facilitates the coordination of all stages of a project, including the maintenance phase, and promotes collaboration among all stakeholders involved through shared access to files. 

Although initially designed for building projects, its effectiveness has been proven in other sectors, and proof of this is that Sorigué can demonstrate its mastery of this methodology in projects as diverse as the management of hydraulic infrastructure and the maintenance of bridges and tunnels
