Sorigué presents its implementation of BIM technology in the conservation of infrastructures at the Andalusian Roads Congress

April 5, 2022

The group is a sponsor of this congress, now in its fifth edition, which debates the responsible management of road infrastructures.

The Sorigué business group, through its company Sorigué Acsa Conservación, is taking part in the fifth edition of the Andalusian Road Congress, organised by the Spanish Road Association (AEC), from 6 to 8 April at the Granada Exhibition and Conference Centre.

Under the slogan “Towards the next edition of roads”, this meeting, which Sorigué also sponsors, brings together hundreds of experts to discuss the responsible management of road infrastructures, through three blocks: digital transformation, impact on the environment and road safety.

On Thursday 7th, Sorigué representatives will participate in a round table where they will present the company’s current application of BIM technology in the different areas of road and infrastructure maintenance.

So far, BIM methodology has been very much focused on the building industry, but there is an increasing demand for this technology to be implemented in other sectors. This is why Sorigué is gradually implementing BIM technology in different areas of road maintenance.
The use of BIM technology in construction and maintenance processes provides greater effectiveness; it allows for the digitalisation of actions; it boosts collaboration between agents involved in the processes and improves the safety of the actions, among other characteristics.

The round table in which Sorigué is taking part is moderated by Fernando Manuel Moreno Navarro, lecturer in the Department of Construction Engineering and Engineering Projects at the University of Granada. Representatives from companies and institutions such as MATINSA, Ayesa, Imesapi, TC6 Ingeniería, Cemosa, the University of Seville, Metalesa Seguridad Vial, Azvi and Sice are also taking part in the round table.

In addition, the manager of Sorigué Acsa Conservación, Víctor Solanes, has participated in the congress podcast to discuss the idea that “Comprehensive infrastructure conservation is essential to guarantee safe roads”.

For more than 20 years, Sorigué has been a benchmark in the conservation and operation of road infrastructures. It is also a winter road specialist. The company currently has conservation contracts in Andalusia, Catalonia, Aragon and Castile and León.
