November 26, 2024

Sorigué presents its Non-Financial Information Statement 2023. Among its data: it increases its production of clean energy by 108% and its volunteer programmes by 42%. It also highlights its commitment to incorporating more young talent into its workforce.

The Sorigué group publishes its Non-Financial Information Statement 2023, highlighting its commitment to reducing its carbon footprint, both in internal processes and in the execution of its projects.

The company is progressing towards compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals defined in the 2030 Agenda, as evidenced by the fact that 92% of its business is environmentally certified and water consumption at its facilities has been reduced by 30%, among other positive figures.

The organisation’s social responsibility is reflected in significant aspects such as the incorporation of more women into traditionally male-dominated sectors such as construction or the hiring of young talent in areas that require generational renewal.

In addition, the company has increased its participation in social and environmental projects by 28% through direct sponsorships and has strengthened its volunteer actions by 42%.

Impact on the environment

Sorigué continues to commit to sustainable mobility and closes the year with 30% of its fleet being electric or hybrid for the provision of services to cities and 92% of its activity certified for environmental management. Regarding clean energy, the nine solar plants located at different work centres of the group generate 741.46 kW from photovoltaic installations, that is, 108.6% more than in 2022.

To this production are added the 26 GW that have been injected into the gas network through the first biomethane plant that works with 100% livestock waste, managed by Sorigué through the company Noguera Renovables, also participated by Axpo Iberia and Granja Torre Santa María.

This way of understanding the relationship with the environment is also transferred to the group’s facilities. Thanks to the “Every drop counts” campaign, water consumption has been reduced by 30% and the use of recycled water has increased by 8%. Likewise, dependence on fuel oil has been reduced by 50% at an internal level.

Trust in people

In an average workforce of 4,600 people, 19% are women, a percentage that continues to increase each year in pursuit of parity. The hiring of young talent is another major challenge for the group and, in this regard, the success of the Talento-Futuro programme stands out, through which the incorporation of people under 30 years of age has increased by 48%. In terms of professional incentives, Sorigué has increased training hours by 15%.

Social outreach

As part of its contribution to the modernisation of the strategic sectors in which it operates, Sorigué has signed alliances with 75 associations and benchmark entities to respond to labour market needs through scholarships, mentoring programmes, training and other activities with significant internal and external projection.

In addition, the image of the group has been present in 76 social and environmental initiatives thanks to its sponsorship plan which, for 2023, has increased by 28%. The volunteer programme, with an increase of 42% compared to 2022, also demonstrates both personal and corporate interest in presenting itself as a positive agent for the changes demanded by society.

The Sorigué Foundation, which promotes the vocation of giving back of the business group, has consolidated its role as a driving force for the promotion of art and culture among young audiences: in 2023 it received 600 students and, in addition, it collaborated with 15 entities and artists and loaned free of charge 22 works from its collection for different exhibitions.
