Sorigué awarded for its work on the construction of the Córdoba Northern Bypass

February 28, 2025

The Andalusia, Ceuta, and Melilla branch of the College of Civil Engineers, Canals, and Ports (CICCP) recognizes the project as the “Best Local Engineering Project in Andalusia” and describes it as “exceptional” due to the technical complexities addressed.

The first phase of the Córdoba Northern Bypass has been awarded the “Best Local Engineering Project in Andalusia” by the governing board of the Andalusia, Ceuta, and Melilla branch of the College of Civil Engineers, Canals, and Ports (CICCP).

The project, executed by Sorigué’s Infraestructuras Sur, was commissioned by the Municipal Urban Planning Agency of the Córdoba City Council, with technical supervision provided by the joint venture formed by GIS Ingeniería Civil and TPF Ingeniería–Getinsa Euroestudios.

The award ceremony will take place on 22 May at the CajaGranada Foundation Theatre in the city of Granada.

Exceptional project

In its minutes, the jury highlighted “the exceptional nature of an engineering project that combines technological advances, regulatory adaptations, and innovative solutions to address geotechnical and social complexities.”

Indeed, the construction of this bypass posed a significant challenge due to the difficulty of building the connection structure with the A-4 exit ramp in a very confined space, with heavy traffic flows and no alternative routes.

Sorigué in Andalusia

With offices in Seville, Granada, and Málaga, Sorigué has had a strong presence in Andalusia for over 50 years. In Córdoba, the company is currently responsible for the urbanization and fencing of the 85 hectares designated for the Army’s Logistics Base, one of the largest and most innovative military facilities in the country.

Another ongoing project in the province is the construction of the external consultation unit for the maternal and child area of the Córdoba University Hospital, covering an area of approximately 10,000 m².

Additionally, in 2024, Sorigué became a shareholder in Bitum Asfaltos e Infraestructuras, strengthening its asphalt division in Andalusia and enhancing its infrastructure and materials services in the region with its own resources.
