The University of Valencia entrusts Sorigué with the maintenance of its facilities
Iconic spaces such as the La Nau cultural centre, the Botanical Garden facilities, the Rector Peset University College, and research centres like Cavanilles, among others, are under the care of the group.
Since March 2025, Sorigué has been responsible for the comprehensive maintenance of key University of Valencia institutions, spread across various locations in the province.
The service includes the maintenance of buildings, facilities, and urbanized areas, as well as specific interventions in specialized spaces such as clean rooms, greenhouses, or animal facilities.
This contract, valid for the next four years, consists of two lots: Paterna Campus and scattered buildings.
Paterna Campus
The Paterna Campus hosts the ETSE-UV (Escola Tècnica Superior d’Enginyeria), a building offering seven undergraduate degrees, three double degrees, and a wide range of master’s programs, with thousands of students and faculty passing through daily. It also houses the Paterna Science Park, home to several of the region’s most important research institutes, such as the Cavanilles Institute for Biodiversity and Biology, the Institute of Molecular Science (ICMol), and the Institute of Materials Science (ICMUV), among others.
In Paterna, you can also find the Aras de los Olmos Astronomical Observatory and over 80 companies dedicated to the ICT and biotechnology sectors. For this reason, one of the greatest challenges in maintaining these facilities lies in meeting their stringent safety requirements.
Scattered buildings
Due to their historical significance, the buildings scattered across the city of Valencia and the Ontinyent campus require careful maintenance to preserve their heritage. These include, for example, the former rectorate from the 15th century, now home to the La Nau cultural centre; the Cerveró Palace, built in the 18th century; or the Rector Peset University College, located in a centuries-old stately home.
Sorigué also handles the comprehensive maintenance of the buildings and facilities of the University of Valencia’s Botanical Garden, classified as a Site of Cultural Interest, inaugurated in the early 19th century.
As is standard in facility maintenance, Sorigué deploys an interdisciplinary team of professionals operating from Monday to Saturday without disrupting the regular activities and available to support cultural or academic events held outside regular hours.
Since Sorigué re-established its presence in the Valencian Community in 2020 with the renovation of the building now housing the CaixaFòrum cultural centre, the group has carried out several rehabilitation projects related to education through its Urban division, such as replacing the plumbing at the Rector Peset University College or remodelling the Burjassot Campus to accommodate a new health office.
In addition to the Urban division, Sorigué operates in the region through its Building and Infrastructure and Materials divisions. Through the latter, it is working on the reconstruction of six roads across seven Valencian municipalities, most of which had their foundations damaged by the torrential rains caused by the 2024 DANA storm.
