Sorigué takes over comprehensive maintenance of the University of Seville

February 12, 2025

The University of Seville has awarded Sorigué the tasks of conservation, repair, and modernization of its buildings, covering 19 areas of work.

With a community of over 80,000 people, including faculty, students, and administrative and service staff, the University of Seville is the leading higher education institution in Andalusia and the third largest in Spain. Starting this year, Sorigué will undertake maintenance work for all its buildings under an agreement aimed at ensuring the modernization and proper functioning of the facilities.

The tasks cover 19 areas, including plumbing, electricity, climate control, security, fire protection systems, smoke extraction, and automation of doors and windows, among others. The maintenance team is also responsible for high-altitude maintenance work using vertical techniques.

One of the most notable features of this contract is its flexibility, allowing the University to hire services based on its specific needs during the agreement’s term.

Large facilities

Sorigué has been present in Andalusia for over 50 years and, in recent years, has taken on the maintenance of major facilities such as the Málaga City of Justice (70,000 m²), the Seville City of Justice (over 217,000 m²), and the University of Huelva (64 buildings).

Other significant projects in the region include the ongoing urbanization works for the plot where the Army’s Logistics Base is being built in the province of Córdoba; the conservation and improvement of forests and trees in the monumental complex of the Alhambra and Generalife in Granada; the maintenance of Málaga’s water supply and sewage networks; and the replacement of public infrastructure elements in Fuengirola.
