Sorigué, responsible for urban maintenance in Alicante

February 23, 2026

This is the first time Sorigué has carried out an urban maintenance contract in this Valencian city. This involves comprehensive conservation to ensure the functionality and good condition of public spaces for citizens.

Alicante City Council has announced the new maintenance and conservation service for pavements, squares and public spaces, operated by Sorigué from this year and for the next four years.

The team deployed for this contract brings together highly trained professionals divided into seven brigades, which facilitates simultaneous interventions in different parts of the city. As a new feature, seven electric vehicles are being incorporated to reduce polluting emissions and minimise noise nuisance.

Furthermore, the service has an emergency response team capable of responding quickly to any situations that may pose a danger to the public.

Comprehensive service
This is a comprehensive operation involving corrective maintenance, repair and replacement of pavements, kerbs, dropped kerbs, tree pits, drainage elements, street furniture and associated networks such as sewerage, lighting, irrigation and telecommunications.

The goal in all interventions is to ensure accessible, tidy environments in optimal condition for public use.

Currently, Sorigué is present in the five districts of the Alicante municipality, both in its urban areas and rural districts, and over the coming years, the possibility of expanding to new roads and public spaces will be considered.

The work schedule is set by the Alicante Department of Infrastructure, according to incidents reported by the public and priorities established by municipal services.

In its first month of work, Sorigué has already carried out work in 20 streets in Playa San Juan, Centro, Albufereta, Benalúa, Rabasa and San Blas, and is scheduling interventions in Centro, Ciudad Jardín and Vía Parque.

For the Councillor for Infrastructure of Alicante, Cristina García, this pace of work confirms that “we are going to act throughout the city without making distinctions”.

This is the first time Sorigué has carried out an urban maintenance contract in Alicante, but its relationship with this province has been strengthened through various works such as the construction of an auditorium for the municipality of Sax, the refurbishment of the internal medicine department at the Marina Baixa hospital and the widening of the A-7 motorway between Crevillente and Orihuela, among other projects by the group’s different areas.
