Together with the Fundación Laboral de la Construcción, Sorigué presented a training programme this April linked to professional certificates, aimed at preparing talent who will then be able to join the company directly. The initiative is aimed at training workers specialised in urban maintenance and public road asphalt, as well as in the conservation of urban spaces.

The certification, which takes place between April and June, aims to boost the recruitment of specialised talent and promote the labour market integration of new qualified profiles for the sector. 

This first edition features the participation of eight people, seven men and one woman , who are undertaking a professional certificate geared towards roles linked to the execution of concrete work, construction, and other site-specific tasks, such as paving, concrete curing, and specialised site support tasks.

Lucía López Alé, Manager of the Fundación Laboral de la Construcción in Catalonia, highlighted that “this involves highly personalised support for each and every person undertaking the certification, which represents an added value compared to other training programmes. In this regard, Sorigué embodies values with which we at the Fundación Laboral de la Construcción feel fully aligned.” 

The training has a total duration of 260 theoretical and practical hours, and includes 40 hours of company work placements, which are carried out within the Asfaltos Catalunya and Espacios urbanos Norte teams, where the qualified profiles will be incorporated upon completing the certification. 

The certification is taught at the Badalona Training Centre of the Fundación Laboral de la Construcción and prepares individuals while also providing training on health and safety. 

Visit to the certification students 

On Monday 13 April, Sorigué and the Fundación Laboral de la Construcción jointly visited the students of the programme, an occasion that served to introduce Sorigué to the participants and explain the subsequent process of joining the company. 

“Ultimately, recruitment within the construction sector can be done in many ways, but we believe it is essential that they can obtain this professional certificate and initial training, so that their capacity for subsequent development within the group is much higher. We want them to be aware that this is not just training, but training that seeks continuity at Sorigué,” noted Eloi Baró, Director of Administration and Labour Relations at Sorigué.  

Espiridion López, Director of Asfaltos Catalunya, pointed out that “we are very keen for them to join the company. We are all closely involved to ensure they feel comfortable, and so that together we can carry out the projects we have in hand, which are numerous and highly diverse.” 

About the Fundación Laboral de la Construcción

It is made up of 17 Territorial Councils and has 52 of its own training centres distributed throughout Spain, 23 of which feature a Preventive Practice Centre (Centro de Prácticas Preventivas, CPP).
