Sorigué pledges to promote a purpose-driven economy

June 29, 2023

The signing ceremony of the “Manifesto for a Purpose-Driven Economy” brought together more than 200 Catalan companies with the aim of promoting and extending socially responsible management in the business world.

Sorigué has joined the “Manifesto for a Purpose-Driven Economy” promoted by the main business organisations in Catalonia, with the leadership of Respon.cat and the support of the Chamber of Commerce. The presentation and signing ceremony took place on Tuesday 27 June at the Casa Lonja de Mar in Barcelona.

More than 200 small, medium and large Catalan companies from different sectors have signed this agreement, with the aim of promoting and extending socially responsible management across the business world.

Companies with a purpose

The manifesto calls on the business world to move forwards in the active and committed development of corporate responsibility towards society, with a triple impact purpose: economic, social and environmental.

In addition, the initiative aims to highlight the role of companies as drivers of change through commitment and the creation of shared value.
To make this possible, it proposes that each company establish a purpose that marks their will to create value, both for the company itself and for all the players involved.

The business organisations that have promoted the manifesto under the impulse of Respon.cat are the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, the Council of Chambers of Commerce of Catalonia, Foment del Treball, Pimec, CECOT, Femcat and the College of Economists, among others.

Mònica Roca i Aparici, President of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, opened the event by highlighting the fact that “the main business organisations have come together to proclaim this manifesto. It is up to us to help build a more prosperous future and to share best practices that are good for both business competitiveness and for society.”
