Sorigué participates in the 2025 National Road Safety Conference

April 24, 2025

During the event, industry professionals emphasized the importance of proper infrastructure maintenance and the role of new technologies as tools to minimize accident risks.

Sorigué was present with a delegation from its Infrastructure and Materials teams at the 2025 National Road Safety Conference, held at the Alicante Congress Palace on 23 and 24 April.

Around 500 professionals and experts gathered under the theme “360º Road Safety, the Global Challenge of Future Roads” to discuss the role of infrastructure and new technologies in accident prevention.

The event, jointly organized by the Technical Road Association (ATC) and the Spanish Road Association (AEC), and promoted by the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility (MTMS), provided a platform for debating new road safety challenges from various perspectives.

Across ten technical sessions, attendees explored “forgiving roads,” designed to minimize the consequences of human error, and learned about technologies like Floating Car Data for collecting information from moving vehicles. Discussions also covered decarbonized and reusable containment barriers, road maintenance techniques, and virtual reality tools, among other topics.

This marks Sorigué’s first participation as an AEC member, having formally joined in March 2025, though it has collaborated and shared knowledge with the association for several years.

Comprehensive road maintenance

“Maintaining roads, ensuring road safety” was the slogan chosen for Sorigué’s booth, where it showcased its commitment to developing proprietary products and techniques, as well as its comprehensive construction and maintenance services.

The company presented its cold repair products, asphalt mixtures, and permeable soils, designed, produced, and distributed under its own brand, Calcel. Sorigué also explained its road maintenance work to ensure conditions that enhance traffic flow and safety, with a high degree of specialization during winter.

Its current projects include significant efforts such as maintaining over 254 km of roads in Huesca, Aragón; 428 km of the Eix Transversal in Catalonia; over 205 km of roads in Jaén, Andalucía; and the control and repair of 504 km of roads in the province of Lleida. Additionally, Sorigué stands out as the operator for the comprehensive maintenance and operation of 268.876 km of interurban and urban roads in Barcelona’s western sector.
