Andalusian hospitals trust Sorigué for facility maintenance
Through a framework agreement in Huelva and two contracts awarded in Córdoba and Seville, Sorigué leverages its expertise in constructing and maintaining hospital facilities across Andalusia.
Sorigué secured two contracts with the Andalusian Health Service and one with the State Society for Penitentiary and Security Infrastructures to conduct various projects in Andalusian healthcare centres.
In the province of Huelva, maintenance work is carried out to address the specific needs of each facility; in Córdoba, two healthcare centres receive comprehensive upkeep; and in Seville, a custody unit for hospitalized inmates is under construction.
These projects, totalling over 11 million euros, emphasize Sorigué’s commitment to high-quality standards, ensuring that each facility remains in optimal condition without affecting operational continuity, while prioritizing patient and staff safety and comfort.
Healthcare facilities under Huelva’s provincial procurement agency
The Andalusian Health Service signed a framework agreement with Sorigué for construction, renovation, repair, maintenance, and demolition at Huelva’s healthcare centres.
The work caters to the unique requirements of facilities like the Juan Ramón Jiménez University Hospital, Infanta Elena Hospital, Transfusion, Tissue, and Cell Centre, and Riotinto General Hospital, among others.
The framework agreement focuses on ensuring that disruptions to healthcare services are minimized, while guaranteeing the safety of patients, staff, and visitors. It incorporates measures to minimize risks, such as biosafety protocols, detailed planning, approved timelines, and robust quality control measures.
In this sense, Sorigué collaborates with each centre’s technical managers to prioritize sustainability, energy efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
Operations in critical areas like operating rooms, ICUs, and essential services are executed with minimal interruptions and stringent biosafety standards. Urgent repairs begin within 12 hours of notification, and all facilities undergoing work are secured with complete sealing, acoustic, and thermal insulation for safety.
Puente Genil and Montilla Hospitals, Córdoba
Sorigué oversees comprehensive maintenance for the Puente Genil and Montilla hospitals in Córdoba province. Puente Genil, a high-resolution healthcare centre, serves 30,000 residents, while Montilla covers about 23,000 people.
The three-year contract, extendable by two years, was awarded by the Andalusian Health Service. The contract encompasses preventive, corrective, and regulatory maintenance, monitoring of equipment and building operations, and management of materials and tools for incident resolution.
Sorigué’s team is available 24/7, 365 days a year, to address emergencies, focusing on critical areas like operating rooms and ICUs while reducing impacts on hospital activities.
Virgen del Rocío University Hospital, Seville
The State Society for Penitentiary and Security Infrastructures (Siepse) is managing the construction of a custody unit for inmates at Seville’s Virgen del Rocío University Hospital.
The project comprises three sections: a hospitalization area, an outpatient waiting room, and enhancements to the surrounding area.
The hospitalization zone, located on the second floor of the traumatology building, features four double rooms with bathrooms, a security control area, an access airlock, changing rooms, and rest areas for penitentiary staff.
A separate single-story building includes two waiting rooms with toilets, a control post with a bathroom, and a utility room. Lastly, the surrounding area is being upgraded with improved access and parking spaces for inmate transport vehicles.
With over 50 years in Andalusia, Sorigué has spearheaded projects in residential and public building construction, hydraulic infrastructure, and urban and interurban road paving.
In healthcare in particular, stand-out projects include completing the 10,000 m² outpatient building for the maternal and child area at Reina Sofía University Hospital in Córdoba and renovating the emergency department at La Merced Hospital in Osuna, Seville, completed swiftly to address the 2020 pandemic healthcare crisis.
