Sorigué joins Fundació Exit to motivate and guide young students
Sorigué, in its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, has joined Fundació Exit in its 18th edition to collaborate in the Coach project, which is being carried out during the months of November and December.
Currently, youth unemployment is one of the main problems in our country, with the highest youth unemployment rate in the EU: 69.36% among young people aged 16 to 19 and 45.26% among those aged 20 to 24. More than ever, initiatives and actions are needed to help address this situation.
Coach is a corporate volunteering initiative aimed at improving the employability of young people at risk of social exclusion. It is directed at socially responsible companies that wish to involve their staff in a specific solidarity action, for a limited period of time and with guaranteed results. In previous editions, more than 200 companies and 3,500 young people have participated.
In this new edition, nine Sorigué professionals from the Guinardó, CLD, Feixa Llarga and Firtec work centres are taking part, holding positions of responsibility in different areas. Each professional from Sorigué will work with a young person aged between 16 and 19 from special training centres, where they study a bridging course to access vocational training.
For two months, Sorigué volunteers will show the students the company, their workplace, introduce them to their colleagues, and present their day-to-day activities, emphasising all the positive aspects of teamwork, effort and commitment, with the aim of motivating them to continue their education.
In return, Sorigué employees receive training in Coaching and Mentoring techniques that they can apply in their daily work and, in addition, develop new skills in communication, diversity awareness and leadership.
This is a win-win project, fully aligned with Sorigué’s Vision of “Growing by helping others grow”, and the company expects it to continue expanding in future editions, extending it to more work centres and volunteers.
On this occasion, 70 volunteers from companies in different sectors will participate, including Acciona, Banco Sabadell, Burberry, Colt, DKV, Endesa, Esade, Ferrovial, Fira Barcelona, Indra, Sanitas, Novartis, among others.
