Coutex consolidates its presence in the Middle East

March 24, 2021

The Sorigué group company specialising in hydraulic equipment has strengthened its international presence by signing a bilateral agreement with Israeli company Mapal.

Leader in the design and manufacture of water treatment machinery, Coutex has signed a collaboration agreement with Israeli company Mapal Green Energy Limited, which specialises in wastewater aeration solutions using fine bubbles. This bilateral agreement puts the Sorigué group company in a cutting-edge position in the hydraulics industry in the Middle East, as it has direct dialogue with the region and, at the same time, acts as Mapal’s representative in Spain.

Thanks to this partnership signed in December 2020, Mapal validates Coutex to supply products in a market as demanding as the Israeli one, and our automatic grilles, decanter bridges, thickeners, gates and Archimedes screws will be able to be integrated into hydraulic infrastructure equipment in the country. At the same time, Coutex is representing Mapal in Spain with its fine bubble aeration system for temporary or permanent application in ponds or reactors where an air supply is necessary for both the process and biological reaction in installations such as purification systems.

In this way, Mapal has opened the doors to Coutex as an approved supplier and validated its manufacture processes, materials and workshops to expand its own number of references, allowing the Sorigué group company to participate in bids and tenders in the Israeli market with highly competitive prices.

Expanding presence in the Middle East

The projects that China National Petroleum is running in various Asian countries will be supplied by Coutex. An order has thus been placed for super duplex gates for the Ras Markaz crude oil storage terminal in Oman through the Chinese company Rongxin Engineering Limited.

Alterous, which operates in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, is also a local partner of Coutex in providing quotations to local companies such as those currently involved in projects for the construction of the city of South Al Mutla'a in Kuwait.

Coutex continues to consolidate its international reputation in the design, manufacture, assembly and maintenance of customised machinery and equipment for each client with projects in more than 30 countries. More than 60 references in its catalogue, four decades of experience in the hydraulic industry and the guarantee of an after-sales service endorse the work of this Sorigué group company both in Europe and abroad.

Through these partnerships, Coutex is strengthening its participation in the Middle East, where it carried out the Shuqaiq (Saudi Arabia) project for the company Acciona and the Duqm (Oman) project for the construction company Tedagua in 2020. Equipment was previously supplied for China Geo-Engineering Corporation in Al-Hay (2015, Iraq) and for Tedagua in Djibouti during 2019.
