The ground floor of the Detelina residential building, located on San Lucas Street in Fuengirola, is to be converted into a public library, becoming part of the Municipal Library Network.

The 663 m² space is in a raw state and requires significant adaptations to comply with technical, accessibility, and safety regulations. The works include demolitions, new interior partitions, acoustic insulation, air conditioning, ventilation, electrical systems, smart lighting, and fire protection systems. Additionally, masonry, cladding, metal and wood carpentry, glazing, and painting work will be carried out.

The project incorporates design elements to ensure universal accessibility and compliance with the Technical Building Code. Sustainability is prioritized through the use of insulating and energy-efficient materials. The modifications also include the creation of functional spaces for consultation, reading, and specific areas for children, with optimized acoustic design. Compliance with accessibility regulations and the implementation of workplace safety measures ensure an inclusive and safe environment for all citizens.
