Sorigué Promotes Young Talent at the Fundación Princesa de Girona Talent Forum

July 31, 2025

Young professionals from the Sorigué business group presented the European Water Mining project as an example of innovation in water sustainability.

Sorigué once again took part in the second edition of the Young Talent Forum, organised by the Fundación Princesa de Girona, on Wednesday 23 July. The event brought together more than 100 young people from 40 of the Foundation’s member companies at UIC Barcelona, as part of the activities leading up to the 2025 Princesa de Girona Awards ceremony.

The goal of the gathering was to promote and connect young talent from these organisations while providing them with a platform to share the innovative methodologies they are applying across four key pillars: social purpose, development and talent, artificial intelligence, and sustainability.

In this edition, Sorigué was represented by Rosa Rafecas, an R&D+i engineer, and Aida Garcia, Contract Manager for Asfaltos Cataluña, who participated under the coordination and support of the group’s Talent department. This team played a key role in identifying, preparing, and showcasing internal talent, increasing their visibility and development at strategic events for the organisation.

Innovation for circular water management

Both professionals presented the Water Mining innovation project within the sustainability track. This European initiative, in which the business group is involved, aims to promote the circular economy and ensure long-term water availability by developing various technologies that improve the treatment of organic contaminants in wastewater.

Sorigué, a leading company in the integrated water cycle specialised in the design, construction, and management of water treatment plants, is participating in the project by validating four technologies at its pilot plant installed at the La Llagosta wastewater treatment facility in Barcelona.

In their presentation, Sorigué’s representatives emphasised the group’s commitment to and investment in innovation applied to major environmental challenges.

A day for sharing talent and innovation

Throughout the event, the young participants took part in various activities that allowed them to showcase their innovation and impact projects, creating a space for connection, collaboration, inspiration, and a holistic view of current trends in the business world. Around 50 innovative initiatives were presented, all focused on the forum’s thematic pillars.

The day concluded with a visit by the young attendees to Barcelona City Council facilities and attendance at the Princesa de Girona Awards ceremony, presided over by Princess Leonor alongside the King and Queen of Spain and Infanta Sofía.

Throughout the day, the young participants were able to share insights and experiences with representatives from other organisations, strengthening ties around a shared commitment to the future.

The event featured young representatives from key companies across a wide range of sectors, including Acciona, Aigües de Barcelona, BBVA, Deloitte, Enagás, Endesa, Ferrovial, Fundación ESADE, Google España, Grupo Planeta, Iberdrola, IESE Business School, PRISA, Repsol, SEAT, Siemens, Telefónica, Vueling, Banc Sabadell, and Zurich Seguros.
