The business group presented two of its innovation projects in the field of water and the circular economy during the chemical sector international meeting.
Sorigué presented two of its innovation projects at the Expoquimia trade fair, which was held in Barcelona from 30 May to 2 June. The projects on display have been developed by the business group’s innovation department and seek effective solutions in the field of water and the circular economy.
The first project was presented on Tuesday 30 May. Zulema Borjas, R&D&I Manager, presented Despoliplat, a technological solution that aims to transform plastic waste into fuel and hydrogen. The project has been developed by Sorigué and the AMIC-URV Foundation, with the support of CELSA. A pilot test is being carried out at the Sorigué waste plant in Torredembarra, Tarragona, to test its effectiveness.
The second presentation was given on Friday 2 June by Beatriz Corzo, R&D&I Manager, who presented the results of Low-e. This project has consisted of the development of a new, more efficient desalination system that allows high quality drinking water to be obtained. The research is carried out in collaboration with the technology centres Tecnalia, Tinnit GmbH and the University of Cologne and has a pilot plant at the desalination plant in El Prat de Llobregat, Barcelona.
