Sorigué continues to advance in reducing its carbon footprint

May 26, 2025

One of Sorigué’s companies receives the ‘Yo compenso’ seal from the Spanish Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (Miteco). It is the third company in the group to receive this recognition.

Constraula, a company within the Sorigué group, has obtained the ‘Yo compenso’ seal from the Spanish Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (Miteco), confirming that it has offset its carbon emissions generated in 2023.

To achieve this seal, Constraula participated in the Iber Forest Bank reforestation project in Mora d’Ebre, Tarragona, an ecological restoration initiative on a former disused agricultural estate.

Forest Bank is an organization specializing in carbon footprint mitigation through proprietary measurement techniques and CO₂-absorbing forests registered with Miteco.

The seal awarded to Constraula falls under scopes 1+2 and 3. Category 3 includes indirect emissions from energy generation, losses in electricity transmission and distribution, water consumption, purchases, and contracts.

The certification covers urban maintenance, building and equipment maintenance, new construction, and rehabilitation activities at its Barcelona and Sant Joan Despí offices, as well as its operational worksites and warehouses throughout the Barcelona metropolitan area.

Third certification

Constraula is the third company in the Sorigué group to receive Miteco’s recognition for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The Aragonese construction company Vialex was the first to certify its carbon footprint reduction with the scope 1+2 seal. Scope 1 refers to direct emissions from fuel combustion, while scope 2 covers indirect emissions from electricity.

Meanwhile, Ambitec, a company specializing in green infrastructure, certified its registration in section A of carbon footprint and commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions across all its maintenance and conservation activities for green spaces and playgrounds in the municipalities of Barcelona, Parla, Terrassa, Sabadell, Sant Cugat del Vallès, Salou, and Sant Just Desvern.

Currently, 92% of Sorigué Group’s business is certified in environmental matters, and the group is firmly committed to sustainable solutions across its various areas: City, Water, Industry, Infrastructure and Materials, Construction, and Energy.
