Sorigué expands its environmental commitment with the seal “Calculo, reduzco, compenso CO2” (“I calculate, reduce and offset CO2”)

January 28, 2022

The Sorigué Group’s Green Infrastructure business division has been awarded the Spanish Government’s seal for calculating greenhouse gases in green space and playground maintenance projects.

This business division, managed by Ambitec, has been awarded the seal certifying that its carbon footprint is recorded under section A and that it has pledged to reduce greenhouse gases under scopes 1 and 2. The certification, awarded by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, through the Spanish Office for Climate Change (OECC), covers all the company’s green space and playground maintenance operations in Barcelona, Parla, Terrassa, Sabadell, Sant Cugat del Vallés, Salou and Sant Just Desvern.

Three Levels of Commitment

Awarded by the Spanish Government’s Ministry for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, this seal for calculating, reducing and offsetting carbon dioxide verifies the greenhouse gas inventory data calculated and submitted by Ambitec in 2020.

Strategic Approach

Recently awarded for the second year running, this governmental seal has now been expanded to covers all Ambitec’s business operations and its Greenhouse Gas (GHG) inventory has been third-party verified by AENOR under ISO standard 14064-1. Last year it began its first calculation and verification for one of its services in Parla, Madrid. Sorigué’s efforts in the fight against climate change are being made in several different areas and are reflected in the fact that 80% of its business is certified by environmental management standards.

As documented in its most recent Sustainability Report, the group has implemented a variety of measures, such as using renewable energy, reducing energy use, minimising waste and strengthening the circular economy.
