Sorigué to build Tower One, a new hotel for Esplugues de Llobregat

The tower will form part of the business and services park, Porta Diagonal, which will serve a variety of uses, including offices and retail, as well as a hotel. A new area of business activity and services that will connect the city with the natural environment of Collserola.
Sorigué is participating in the transformation of the Finestrelles sector in Esplugues de Llobregat through the construction of a building with 25 storeys above ground for use as a hotel and 3 underground levels. This project forms part of Porta Diagonal, the last 90,000 m² of the Finestrelles sector to be developed, which, with this business park, will complete the transformation of the sector’s 234,800 m², which has been distributed among residential, business, hotel and commercial areas.
The building, Tower One, developed by the Sacresa Group, is being built by Sorigué’s Acsa Obras e Infraestructuras, together with the installation company Cobra, with a budget of around 45 million euros. The project consists of 526 accommodation units, of which 350 are rooms and 176 are studios and apartments.
With this development, the municipality of Esplugues de Llobregat contributes 798 beds to the tourist accommodation on offer in the province of Barcelona and consolidates its vocation as a link between the mountains and the city thanks to its strategic location at the entrance to Avinguda Diagonal, the main artery of the Catalan capital.
The architecture firm Batlle i Roig is responsible for the design of the Tower One project, which is part of this urban transformation macro-project structured around a natural environment, promoting well-being and connectivity with the city.

Designed under the concept of biophilia, all the buildings and public spaces of Porta Diagonal seek integration with the environment through sustainable, healthy materials, as well as obtaining international certifications for energy efficiency and connectivity. These characteristics perfectly coincide with Sorigué’s values in its commitment to sustainable development.
Tower One
The work to be carried out by Sorigué consists of the construction of a tower consisting of 24 storeys plus an upper floor with technical installations, achieving a total height of 98 metres. In addition, three underground floors will be built. The structure has a buildable area of 20,950 m², of which 18,855 m² are given over to residential and/or accommodation use and the remaining 2,095 m² are reserved for uses complementary to the residential development.
Part of the façade on the ground floor will create a porch for public use to form one of the two entrances to the building, and the 22nd floor will feature a terrace with swimming pool. Planters and vertical blades with natural vegetation with great visual impact will be installed on the south and north façades. In addition, these blades connect with metal beams at the top of the building, forming a large pergola that crowns the tower and on which the photovoltaic panels are placed.
