Resurfacing of a taxiway on the runways of Barcelona Airport

Sorigué has resurfaced a section of a taxiway at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport. These types of pathways are crucial for aircraft to move safely across runways, parking aprons, passenger terminals and maintenance hangars. 

This is the second time that Aena, the company responsible for managing Spanish airports, has placed its trust in Sorigué, which had already carried out a similar asphalting project in June 2025. 

On this occasion, a team of approximately 80 people worked around the clock for two weeks to replace 28 cm of asphalt over an area of 11,000 m².
 

In addition to laying the new hot-mix asphalt pavements, moisture issues detected in the underground electrical conduits have been corrected. To achieve this, the pipes and installations that formerly housed the secondary circuits for the airfield lights were replaced. 

Maximum performance has been ensured throughout the project, with tasks such as friction coefficient evaluation, light photometry and circuit functionality testing, among others, being carried out to comply with current regulations.
