DAM and Sorigué manage the Alberic WWTP in Valencia

May 4, 2023

The new contract for the management of this facility operated by the DAM and Sorigué groups came into force on 1 May. DAM has been managing this plant since 2012. The plant serves a population of more than 27,000 people and treats a flow of 4,600 m³/day.

The DAM and Sorigué business groups have been awarded the contract for the management, operation and maintenance service of the Alberic WWTP in Valencia following the tender launched by the Public Entity for Wastewater Treatment of the Valencian Community (EPSAR).

The two companies will operate this facility, which serves a population of more than 27,000 people and treats a flow of 4,600 m³/day, in a joint venture. DAM has been managing this facility since 2012, which treats wastewater from the towns of Benimuslem, Massalavés and Alberic itself with a sludge treatment system by dehydration and a deodorisation system in the WWTP itself.

The contract came into force on 1 May and has a maximum duration of five years. It includes a series of actions to optimise the plant’s energy efficiency and improve process control.

This venture will allow both business groups to consolidate their position in the Valencian Community as leaders in the field of wastewater treatment and purification. Both DAM and Sorigué have decades of experience in the water cycle, proven by their management of multiple hydraulic installations throughout Spain.
