Sorigué begins the water network connection service in the western area of the Community of Madrid

July 30, 2020

From the 30 July, the company will provide a service for more than 3.2 million people. The contract, which involves carrying out 1,800 annual operations, will feature on a dedicated team of more than 40 professionals.

Sorigué business group has been awarded the works contract for the water supply network connection and Canal de Isabel II’s reclaimed water network for a duration of 4 years and more than 20 million euros.

The service covers a population of more than 3.2 million people in the western area of the Community of Madrid. The scope of the new contract includes nine of Madrid’s districts: Centro, Arganzuela, Tetuán, Fuencarral-El Pardo, Moncloa-Aravaca, Latina, Carabanchel, Usera and Villaverde, and 62 of the community’s municipalities: Fuenlabrada, Móstoles, Alcorcón, Leganés, Parla, San Martín de Valdeiglesias, Pozuelo de Alarcón, Boadilla del Monte, Las Rozas, Majadahonda, El Escorial, Navacerrada, Guadarrama and Collado Villalba, among other localities.

The contract includes the execution of an average of 1,800 connections a year, including the network extensions required to supply water, and the renovation and maintenance of more than 15,000 meters.

The water network connection service, which covers all facilities that connect the general water network to a building’s internal network, had been provided by Sorigué for more than 15 years until 2007. Part of the team that has been recalled for this contract, around 30 employees, belongs to the business group’s historic team.

The service will rely on a total of 40 employees who will be located in Sorigué’s Technology and Services headquarters in the central southern area of Vicálvaro. The contract includes the acquisition of a fleet—comprising private cars, vans and trucks—of 20 sustainable Eco vehicles with specialist machinery for the service.

The awarding of the contract confirms the Sorigué group’s plan to establish itself in the centre of the city and its commitment to responsible business growth in line with what is laid down in its Strategic Plan.
