Sorigué begins management of part of the wastewater treatment system in the Murcia region

September 29, 2022

The group is responsible for operating and maintaining lots 3 and 7, which include wastewater treatment and pumping stations in the Levante and Guadalentín areas.

This summer Sorigué has started working as responsible for all operational, maintenance and improvement work at 22 wastewater treatment facilities in the autonomous community of Murcia.

The Entidad Regional de Saneamiento y Depuración de Aguas Residuales de Murcia, ESAMUR, the company responsible for the infrastructures, awarded Sorigué Lot 7 corresponding to the Levante area and Lot 3, to the Guadalentín area. Both awards include Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP), Wastewater Pumping Stations (WWPS) and Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plants (IWTP).

As these are pumping and wastewater treatment systems covering a wide geographical area, the maintenance work involves not only the inspection and monitoring of water quality parameters, but also the control of discharges into collectors and the complete management of the sludge and waste generated up to their final destination.

The systems will treat a total of 7,107,120 m3 per year, or the water discharged by a population equivalent of almost 100,000 inhabitants. The treatment systems to be managed include storm tanks, conventional and membrane biological reactors, tertiary filtration systems, Ultra Violet, Hypochlorite and Ozone disinfection and sludge dewatering.

Para garantizar que todas las infraestructuras permanezcan en óptimas condiciones sin generar contaminación odorífera en su entorno, las labores de explotación y mantenimiento incluyen la gestión de los

deodorisation equipment, analysis and verification of the different stages of each process, repairs and replacements of equipment and energy optimisation of the facilities, among others.

As part of its commitment to the environment, Sorigué issues periodic reports on greenhouse gas emissions and calculates its carbon footprint in order to implement measures that contribute to their reduction.

The contract, with an initial duration of three years, can be extended for a further two years and has been awarded to the temporary joint venture (UTE) formed by our company Acsa, Obras e infraestructuras, S.A. and Vectoris, S.L.
