MIRRA ergonomic chair

MIRRA ergonomic chair

Technical description of the MIRRA ergonomic chair.

Integral back support. Many adjustments of the Mirra chair are passive, so no effort is required for them to operate. The patented TriFlex™ back is flexible and one-piece, that flexes naturally to adjust to the height, morphology and movements of the user.

In order to provide full back support in all the positions adopted during the day, the different geometric shapes of the TriFlex chair back create flexible areas in the thoracic, lumbar and sacral regions.

The back includes the passive contour PostureFit®, which guarantees an exceptional support and comfort for the lower part of the back when the user sits upright, or leaning toward the computer. Mirra allows air circulation, so the skin temperature remains constant and does not retain humidity.

The Harmonic™ tilting reflects the rotation points in the ankles, knees and hips to allow easy, natural movements throughout the tilting angle. The geometry of the reclining mechanism optimises the tilting spring according to the weight of the user. That means that less effort is required to recline the Mirra seat, regardless of the size of the user.

The Harmonic patented tilting, developed with German precision engineering, provides great ease of movement for all users. It allows the balance to be maintained while changing posture, from total reclining to working posture.

The Mirra chair seat automatically adjusts when sitting down. The patented material AireWeave™ and the suspension design of the Mirra seat adapt to the user’s morphology, distributing the weight in a balanced manner. The transpirable material has been manufactured and woven so it conserves its firmness and capacity to react, even when time has gone by.

The FlexFront® patented seat makes Mirra the only seat that allows incremental adjustment of the depth of the seat into five different positions without the need to move the seat.

Mirra consists of a sole combination of active and passive adjustments. The chair immediately recognises you and adapts to your body, and only some manual adjustments will be necessary to fine tune the support and control. Mirra is the ideal chair for each specific user and for all in general, as it adapts to at least 95 of the world population.

The Mirra style is innovative and functional. The wide range of colours (eleven for the seat and eight for the back), that may be combined together, offers multiple options that may harmonise with the environment, create contrasts or constitute a key elements in design of the room.

The foamless upholstery of the Latitude™ back presents a colour choice that increases the available options. The aesthetic range also allows co-ordination of the chair with the colour range in the place where it is to be used and to take into account the cultural preferences that make Mirra universally attractive.

The Mirra chair is a first product by Herman Miller, in the manufacturing process of which the Cradle to Cradle design protocol by McDonough Braungart has been applied from beginning to end. The environmental Design Team at Herman Miller complies with this protocol as part of the company’s commitment to sustainability.

Mirra is 96 per cent recyclable and contains 42 per cent of recycled material. It is also easy to dissemble, which allows it to be recycled without the need for major displacement. The upholstery material of the Latitude back is 100% recyclable. Mirra does not contain PVC.

The colours of the seat, the back and the upholstery of the Latitude™ back, optional for the Mirra chair, may be combined to complement an interior space, to create contrasts or to contribute a key design element to the room. The discrete presence of the perforated polymer back softens the scale. The foamless upholstery of the Latitude back allows ventilation and conserves the integral support of the back without increasing the profile volume.
