Renovation of pavements in the districts of Puente de Vallecas, Moratalaz, Villa de Vallecas and Vicálvaro

Renovation and adaptation of pavements to restore the functionality of the road, eliminate architectural barriers, increase the safety of users and prevent further damage to the lower layers of the pavement.

Pavement renovation works on Avenida Miguel Hernández, Calle Fuente Carrantona, Calle Encomienda de Palacios, Calle Arte Conceptual, Calle Mazaterón and Calle Casalarreina in Madrid.
 
The aim of the actions is to promote pedestrian mobility and accessibility, to allow the proper flow of pedestrian traffic and to protect the infrastructure itself from progressive deterioration. Among the work carried out, the following are worth mentioning:

·       Demolition of paving and removal of kerbs.
·       Upgrade of access points.
·       Renovation of pavements with hydraulic tile paving (15×15) in grey with black 21×21 hydraulic tile edging.
·       Adaptation of pedestrian crossings to the new accessibility regulations with tactile paving with buttons and grooves.

·       Complete renovation of kerbs, for tree surrounds as well as edges of the road and green areas.
·       Construction of an emergency lane, with 4-metre wide paving stones.
·       Widening of pavements in accordance with current accessibility regulations.
·       Installation of a Sol model protective fence.
·       Installation of kerbside bays for large bins.
·       Creation of a new access ramp combined with a flight of stairs.

This project is part of the Framework Agreement for execution of road adaptation and accessibility improvement works (Section 6) of the City Council of Madrid.
