October 29, 2015

Sorigué presented the “New Materials” project on Thursday 29 October. This project has been jointly led by the internationally renowned architect Francisco Mangado and the Strategic Development Department at Sorigué

Thanks to Sorigué’s know-how and experience with asphalt mixes the company has developed unique pre-fabricated pieces using this material, which is usually associated with road building, with innovative design and functionality that guarantee optimal results. Apart from its know-how and experience Sorigué has also brought to the project its technological and responsive capacity and, its multi-disciplinary technical team as  well as advances in the research carried out in its laboratory where the first samples were produced.

The architect Francisco Mangado together with another leading figure in international architecture Ramón Sanabria, were responsible for informing 50 people about the project within the framework of the seminar “New materials and interior space” held at the Catalan Architect’s College in Barcelona. The seminar was organized by the Architecture and Society Foundation, a forum for reflection upon the architecture of the XXI century which includes more than 20 professionals from different fields.

During the presentation Mangado remarked that “with Sorigué’s extraordinary knowledge, we have designed paving stones made with aluminum bars or shavings that are close to being sculptural and will soon be on the market.”
