The well-attended day-long asphalt seminar was conducted last Saturday by Sorigué professionals at the headquarters of the Asociación de Sobreestantes de Catalunya (Foremen’s Association of Catalonia)in Tárrega, Lleida.

The day-long session, entitled “Roadway rehabilitation using environmentally sustainable methods”, was divided into two blocks. The first dealt with the characteristics of the components of asphalt mixes: bitumen, emulsion, and aggregate, as well as the standards that govern each component.

The second block consisted of a presentation of the most sustainable techniques currently used in the industry, or under development, that can be employed in road repair activities: gravel pouring, cold mixes, cold recycling with high-performance emulsions, and other techniques.

The presentations were led by the technical team of the Product Development and R+D+i Department of the business group’s Materials area.
