Definition of the construction and supply of precast concrete voussoirs for cladding two single-track tunnels built with EPB tunnelling machines for the works involved in extending the Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) railway line in Sabadell. Engineering: GPO, SGS and Amberg Ingenieros.
The extension took the line into the centre of Sabadell. One of the stations was located in an area of dense tertiary industry, the Plaza Mayor, picking up heavy demand from the Macià hub, close to a major shopping, residential and leisure area, guaranteeing use of the new station.
The line then went on to the Plaza de España area, where the Sabadell-Norte station on the RENFE Barcelona-Manresa local train line is located. A passenger link between the RENFE local line and the FGC was built there. Finally, the extension reached the residential neighbourhood of Ca n’Oriac, where the last station was built, with engine sheds and shunting area making use of the free space available.
